Between Trash and Tramp

Gay/Bisexual novel by Byrd Roberts

A work of fiction that often seems more like a true-life biography, this novel has it all! From history to suspense to erotica, Between Trash and Tramp holds the reader. An easy read that is hard to put down.
                                             - Virginia GayZette

A compelling and believable work of fiction, it speaks to the pivotal issues confronting today's queer -- love, sexual fluidity, families-we-choose, and parenthood -- in a smooth and easy read.
The story is a biographical sketch of a body-beautiful hustler named Kirby Finney whose erotic pursuits develop into the types of lives that many of us live or would like to live. First, his definition of love is wider and more generous than the "norm." To put it in the words of his mother -- also a hustler -- (paraphrased) 'Kirby doesn't put a box around the people he loves.'
All things considered, what makes Kirby's "biography" so engrossing is that he, along with some of his friends, exemplify the relationships that our beloved Harry Hay has been talking about since the 1970s. Far from being a Utopian dream, Roberts makes gay relationships accessible to a wider audience via a well-written novel. A VERY good read!
